Acute Rejection

We have just been told that DSA (donor specific antibodies) have shown up in my blood draw during my yearly checkup. Question, has anyone else gone through this and what was the treatment plan? I was already doing infusions of IGG to rebuild my immune system and now they are doubling that treatment every month...

  • I had some rejection 4 months after my transplant and of course when they told me what happened, I was devastated. I'm like I just got this friggin thing, now this.  After talking to the doctors and really understanding that rejection isn't that big of deal if detected right away, i felt much better.  A quick plan was put in place. My team put me back on a high dose of prednisone for a month and redid the biopsy. Everything came back clear and away we go continuing with the rehab.

Talk with your team, stay positive and continue on. You are going to get through this successfully and continue to live your life. Trust the process.
