I had 2 bone scans 6 months apart in 2017, and the osteoporosis was only getting worse.  I was taking magnesium, 4,000 IU Vitamin D3, vitamin K, exercise,  anything I could find which was supposed to stop the progression of bone loss. I was sent to an endocrinologist who recommended Prolia, an injection given every 6 months.  After researching, I decided against that.  Then I learned about strontium, which is a mineral next to calcium on the periodic table of elements.  I began taking 500mg daily and in 17 months, I am now in the osteopenia category and the density in my lumbar spine has improved by 9.7%!!  Please look up Osteo-mins AM if you'd like to try this natural cure which we are never educated about!

  • Good for you.

Like KB mentioned, there is always plus and minuses.  I am extremely careful with what natural products/vitamins I use so if there is a low risk downside and high benefit I may give it a shot.  I have also found while being on immuno many medical/holistic remedies just have zero effect.

Nerve pain is a solution I have been chasing but with a Tx and immuno, nothing has assisted. No opioids, etc for me obviously.  Glad you are finding benefit.

    • Hello Jeff, I find what you said very interesting as I am 10 months out from a Liver Tx and have been well EXCEPT it seems any little thing can aggravate my old back problems and cause pain for up to 1.5 months. This pain can be pretty severe as in I need to get up through the night and apply heat as I can't even sleep. I have been prescribed the muscle relaxer tiZANidine which does absolutly nothing to stop the pain.

  • I am glad you found something that worked for you! Do you know which compound of strontium you are taking? I did find an article about Strontium, as it is being used today.

And, of course the case against has its voice

    • The "Osteo-Mins AM" formula contains strontium citrate.  It is paired with "Osteo-Mins PM" which contains calcium.  Dr Jonathan Wright mentions that we should always take more calcium daily than strontium, as those minerals compete for making up bone.  I would be OK with strontium in my bones even in place of calcium, because anything is better than osteoporosis or the side effects from Prolia.
