I'm 1 yr post renal transplant now i have got shingles ie. Herpes zoster I'm on acivir 800mg but i want to know am i contagious to others as its just one painful rash approx one inch. And is it treatable when on immunosuppressive drugs? Pls do reply.

As long as you have open, active lesions, you are contagious to babies who have not yet been vaccinated for chicken pox. It's good that you're on an anti-viral early. If you keep the lesions covered, you won't be so likely to accidentally infect someone. If it starts looking funky, please see your doctor. My husband got a secondary MRSA infection in his shingles lesions and he is not immune-suppressed.
