I am 4 weeks post transplant. I eat super low sodium (at times my sodium labs are TOO LOW which is just as bad) and I had swelling around my eyes 2 weeks post transplant for a week. It is improved this week a lot but still I look more 'liddy' compared to pre transplant. I transplanted January 26, 2016. I'm guessing the meds/prednisone would cause swelling in random areas. I have no weight issues, no moon face but heavier lids. I prefer to gain 5lbs and have my open eyes back personally :) I just started this journey so I never know what each day will bring. I am now on 10 mg of prednisone week 4. In 2 weeks will be at 5mg.
The only time I've gotten that was when I was consuming too much salt. Have you been monitoring that? I agree with Kidneyboy that it could also be an allergic reaction.
You could be right Cora, sometimes I don't monitor salt intake and eat my favorite foods.
I do drink lots of milk because I'm trying to gain my weight.
What you describe seems like it may be an allergic reaction, as you body is trying to "close off" exposure to an irritant. The medications we must take can cause swelling as well. I would mention this to the Tx team for their opinion. It bears further investigation as to the cause. It is time to ask a few questions from those who know you best.

Thanks for reply
There are NO silly questions. Remember your Tx team puts their pants on one leg at a time, just like you. How else do we learn?
