Tetanus jab

Hi all, I am a kidney transplant patient 9 years post op, do you know if it is safe for transplant patients to have a tetanus jab as I don't remember ever having one?

  • At my 6 month post transplant (Liver) check I was told to get a TDAP.  It had been many years.  I have since had a booster at 10 years. 

    • Hi Joe, thanks for letting me know that tetnaus are fine, I will contact my transplant center on Monday.

  • I got one shortly after my pancreas transplant (I'd had my kidney for 6 already). I also had my booster 10 years later, so I'm all up to date on my tetanus.
