Share how your transplant experience changed your life?

I was living with my husband on 25 acres, off the grid in Northern Idaho. As a retired nurse, I didn’t see my on liver failure taking place, so ended up in the emergency room of our tiny hospital and whipped off by ambulance to Seattle, and haven’t been home since. I need to stay within 2 hours of Seattle, so now live in an apartment close to family members. My husband of 40 years decided he’d rather stay in Idaho.

Share whatever information you want us to know about you

I’m a practicing Catholic and my faith is central to my life and when faced with the need for a liver transplant, I couldn’t pray for a new liver. How could I pray for someone to die so I may live? I just left it up to God. I went into surgery knowing that whether I lived or died, I had to wake up in a better place than where I was. So far, so good.
