  • Happy Birthday Debbie!

  •  Happy Birthday Debbie !

  • Hi Debbie,

Great to meet you. I was diagnoised with pulmonary fibrosis in 2005. I was just wait listed for single or double lung transplant Oct. 9 2012. Wife for 16 years, mother of two teen girls, 13 and 17, one dog and one cat.  Thats the short version. Looking forward to getting to know you.

  •  Congrats and all the best!! Thanks for welcoming me!  My brother lives in Whistler!!

  • Debbie, luckily, I didn't have any other health issues besides my lungs, but I had to do double the rehab exercise requirement to be strong for surgery.  That meant I needed 32 exercise sessions at my local rehab before I went to the transplant center rehab for another 32 sessions.  I was very weak, but that's not what most pre-transplant patients have to do.   The people at the transplant center rehab are very supportive and encouraging.  By the way, I was 56 when I had my transplant.

  • Hi Debbie, thanks for your comment. I have to have another test before they decide to list me. I am scared too, and I am not sure if I feel sick enough yet, but I know that I am in the "sweet spot", so I don't want to wait too long either..... it is a huge decision, It is nice to talk to people who know what it is like.

  • It's good to make new friends.  I didn't have this site's support until after my double-lung transplant 2-1/2 years ago.  Take a good look around here.  There are all kinds of topics up for discussion.  I hope your wait is a short one.

  • Cool! Yes there is a lot to take in around here. Once you learn how to use this site, you will like it even more. Looking forward to getting to know you. Please tell your tx team I said thank you so much for sending you our way.
