Dx with kidney failure 40 years ago due to only having one kidney and the other injured during pregnancy. I lasted 40 years and had tranplant 3 weeks ago.

My whole life has revolved around this illness, diet, appetite, strength. I thought once i had the transplant i would just be a normal not sick person. I still have stage 3 kidney failure, have to watch what i eat, where i go, can't get flu shot so have to wear mask. So many adjustments. And all tbe insurance confusion. Im trying to stock pile my meds.

Im 62 was a mental health nurse, retired because i kept getting sick and losing kidney function. Did not have dialysis my daughter stepped in and tested for kidney.

I have a question but i don't know how to post it. I received a letter from medicare that i was elgible since 7/5/2018 and will owe a 134 per month. I was told in sept and oct i was not elgible someone had wrote at ssi that my transplant was over 3 years ago. The hospital told me go in person so i did. That is when i was told why they were denying me. I told them they were wrong and immediately they said i qualified, that was a month ago and they are still expecting me to pay part b but they have done nothing for me i don't even have a card. I thought of appealing the 4 months of part b but afraid i may be opening a bigger can of worms. Don't thing it is fair that i was paying for cobra 600 a month and now part b wants another 134 for those same months. Any insight anyone.
