Pulmonary fibrosis with hypersensitivity pneumonitis diagnosed 1/2013.

Which Organ(s) did you receive? If you are on the waiting list, please share.

I will need a single/double lung transplant. Added to waiting 4/18/2014 at Columbia Univ/New York Presbyterian Hospital. Got my one and only call 4/13/2015. Received a double lung transplant, a perfect match for me. No one else at this hospital could accept these healthy lungs.

Drugs, vitamins, favorite foods

The usual list of drugs. I try to eat very healthy avoiding sugar.

4/14/2015 had tx, so it's 4 weeks today.

As soon as I was really awake after surgery, I could tell I was breathing like I did years ago. No oxygen needed..

I have a wonderful family. My children are my care givers and doing a fantastic job.

I need some new hobbies. I loved to garden, but that's out now. I'll have to figure this out.

I know about the breathing, when I woke up and I was able to breathe... I was like WOW, I haven't been able to breathe good since 2007

Congratulations on your transplant, I had pseudomonas in one lung then crossed over to the other, it is hard to get rid of, after the transplant I still tested positive for pseudomonas and strep in my new lungs, since the transplant I have had several bacterial infections and pueumonia once. But as you said, it's awesome to be able to breathe again. I wish you the best with your new lungs.

Congrats on being listed. I hope you have your "go" kit ready, or are at least getting it together. When I received "the call" it took way longer than we had expected to actually get on our way to UCSF.

Hi Rise,
I'm doing ok. Had some meds adjusted and I think my body is pretty much over the side effects now. When in doubt, I drink more fluids, and that usually helps get rid of the yuk feeling. No complaints.

The website is growing on me. We are all such creatures of habit...but, it is faster. Thank you for all your time and effort. It is my source for great information. Take care.

I was officially listed for transplant 4/18/2014. I've had three calls from my coordinator since. She's updating information for my files....my heart starts to beat through my chest when I see the number. What will I do when the real call comes???

Hello Judy, thank you for your support. I hope you have a great Thanksgiving. Iam having it with my boyfriend, Jim, love of my life. Winn Dixie has the best real roasted turkey in the deli so were getting that and making all the fixings. Iam happy,and hope u are. Also I stay very active, yeaterday we went to the Arlington Speedway it was awesome. But even in Fla. it got cold in those stands. We're going out to flea markets on the Harley, Saturday. We'll probably put 100 plus miles on the bike, but it relaxes me and I love it. Stay cool, all will work out - we're in God's hands and I believe in hispower..
