Share how your transplant experience changed your life?

I now HAVE a life and I hired a personal trainer and getting some strength and stamina back. However, I gained 40 lbs. and that does not make me happy. Can't lose it, even with dieting. But, if I have to keep the 40 lbs. in order to keep my new kidney (whose name is Scooter), then so be it. However, the hair loss is a real bummer. Weight and hair loss? Not happy. Ability to travel? Joyous!

  • Thanks for that welcome note, Kidneyboy!  Scooter and I are getting along fine so far.  I am having a little pain for the past few days where he was "installed," but it's not much and very dull, so I think it's a nothing.  Doctor was pushing very hard when I went to see him, so that may be the reason for the pain.  It's absolutely wonderful to be off of dialysis.  The hair loss and weight gain are a bummer, but, hey, I can go anywhere I want!  I hope you are doing well, too.  Thanks for contacting me.

  • Welcome, Norma Sue to Transplant Friends! I hope you and Scooter are doing well.
