Where did you hear about Transplant Friends?

I was online looking for support.

Are You Male or Female?

Share - which illness led up to you needing a transplant?

Primary Sclerosing Cholangitius I was told that this is a disease more common in caucasian men in their 40. I am an African-American female, and was 25 when I was diagnosed. (LOL-God has a sense of humor!!) I am also a 3x post transplant lymphoma survivor.

Which Organ(s) did you receive? If you are on the waiting list, please share.

How many years have you had your Transplant for?

will be 14 on November 20th

I am Interested in Transplant Friends because...

I want to relate with people who can understand my struggles, challenges, fears. Also, I would like to help encourage others in their journey pre/post transplant

Which Transplant Center has or will perform your life saving surgery?

Baylor Allsaints in Fort Worth, TX

Share how your transplant experience changed your life?

Prior to transplant, I had no energy at all. I have a lot more energy and I am able to take care of my husband and 3 boys and 1 girl. My 14 year old I had 5 months before transplant, and and everyone else I had post transplant. God has been GRACIOUS!!!

What Part of The World Do you Live? Feel free to share city, state, country

  • Happy Birthday Yvette

  • Sorry this took so long. Dr. Levy is my doctor as well and when I had my discussion with him he didn't know the side effects of Cellcept on pregnancies and was extremely rude to me and my now husband. But I will put aside bedside manner for being a good doctor. He wanted to take me off of Cellcept and up my Prograf and put me on Prednisone. What did you go on? Only because I HATE prednisone with such passion lol
  • Happy birthday Yvette! Have a great day! You should join us for chat on Saturdays and Sundays starting at 2pm CDT. Hope to see you there!

  •  Happy Birthday Yvette !

  • Hey there, Yvette!  How's it going, my friend?  Hope all is well for these days.  Wow...from Houston to Philly...you do get around!  :)   Sounds like your husband is a wonderful man and pastor, and I'm really glad you' ve got each other.  I pastored for nearly seven years on my own, and it was a tough, tough road; finally got out, and I don't miss it, but I learned alot through the experience.  Anyway, just was thinking about you and thought I'd drop you a line.  Dan

  • Hello Yvette,

I would love to meet you. My husband and I live in Northwest Fort Worth. Let me know where and when and maybe I can get my hubby to drive me. My e-mail is sissythomas@ymail.com.

  • Hi Yvette, Thank you for contacting me. God has surely blessed you. I love Baylor Hospital. My heart team and my liver team are great. Yesterday I was in the hospital for a heart cath and a liver cath. I am home today and resting. They increased my dopamine. I hope it takes the fluid off my tummy. I may have to have a tap on my liver. I have 2 legions on my liver. They are just going to wait and do another cat scan in 3 months. Hopefully its not cancer.

I have been on the heart and liver list for over one year now. I am just so happy they didn't keep me yesterday. I feel okay. I just stay very tired all the time. Its getting harder to walk but I keep trying to stay active. I am so happy you are doing so well. It gives me such hope to hang in there. Having a baby after a transplant, what a miracle.

Again thank you for your support and you take care of yourself.

    Hugs to you,
