I'm from Canada, so other than program differences between London and Edmonton, its pretty much the same except for funding and research. All in all, they are both rated very well, at least what I've heard from a professional standpoint. Thoughts?
Hey Elreyfeo! I got your web-page link and email address. Thank you for that information :)
I will read through the site and see about creation of a Northern Ontario site, given the Niagara Region as reference. I will be quite busy at work till at least the end of this month, but will see how it goes. Thanks again - Matthew -
Hi! Elreyfeo, I am interested in hearing more about your organ and tissue donation page for Waterloo and Wellington. I would like to carry - on the info from your pages to include both Sudbury and North Bay, possibly Timmins, for the Northern, Ontario Region. Please send me your link and I will re-post my story on that page as well! - Matthew -
Hi Elreyfeo!
Yes, I ran for the Kidney Foundation walk/run for Kidney Research, locally this past August, raising more than $200 in the short-time I had to do fundraising. I also promote fund donations to the local kidney dialysis ward, having recently donated a painting, which promoted funds through the Catholic Woman's League. To date, I have collectively raised over $2000 in support of the North Bay Regional Hospital - Neprology Department.
I signed up for organ donation at least one year ago. I have submitted applications to the local Kidney Foundation and signed up to be a mentor of people under-going kidney problems with The Kidney Foundation of Canada.
I have added many kidney donation pages to my facebook page, shared donation postings, which allows my many friends to see the causes and areas that I support - when it comes to organ and kidney donation. Hope that answers your question :)
Hi Elreyfeo,
You have an excellent sense of humour. Glad to hear you are well.
I had liver cancer when I was 11 years old. It was treated in Toronto, Ontario - at Sick Kid's Hospital. I went through 1.5 years of chemotherapy treatment for 2 weeks at a time. I also had juvenile diabetes at that time. I SURVIVED THE LIVER CANCER, WHOO!! :)
It brought me through a 9+hour operation, near a month of max-dosed radiation treatment and one more bout of chemo, before I was in remission! MEGA STUFF!
2 years later, I developed high blood-pressure, and I have been on dialysis treatments - waiting for a kidney and pancreas (K&P) transplants to help me through! Any questions, I'm willing to help you understand...anything! ;)
Liver cancer was fist-sized when extracted.
Welcome elreyfeo
