Hello all,I am spending almost normal life after three years of post renal transplantation. My creatinine is 1.3 now. Actually it increases 1.1 to 1.3 within 15 day. Last 1 month I'm talking apple cider vinegar and lemon water in empty stomach. I'm bit worried for that. Friends need your opinion and experience about apple cider vineger after transplantation ??

  • Sorry for my late thanks.

This is an article on supplements and kidney disease. Just a general article from a reliable source. They of course do not mention transplantation

Here is a page from Web MD  on drug interactions and ACV

    • I just want to know if its safe to use.I'm fighting blotting and a hernia in the upper part of my stomach. I have major medical issues and fighting to get my renal meds and it tough with no insurance I need help so bad.

      • Alas, our founder, Hostess Rise has passed. I'm sure she would suggest you speak to your Tx team before embarking on any new therapy. ACV has been used successfully by many members, however, it is very acidic and your team's advice is invaluable.

    • The drug  mentioned is in the book is also mentioned on WebMD.

    • If one substance interacts with two different drugs chances are they will interact with powerful immune suppressants.

  • I remember taking a tiny amount of ACV in water and felt so much better.  I remember taking this only once per day. About day 2 or 3 I noticed cramping in my legs.  I do recall reading that ACV depletes magnesium.  I have a book on drug interactions and did read that ACV interacts with some medications. Not sure but I do believe it was one of the cholesterol drugs. I will check and get back to you.

Looking up interactions on google regarding ACV and transplant medication only leads to our two websites.  It is really sad that there is no other information out there.

When you took ACV how much do you use?

I also used ACV in a bread I baked a few weeks ago and had some trouble with this cake where I can no longer eat it. I thought it might be the flax meal which also interacts with our meds via the CYP450 enzyme.

If you can adhere to a healthy diet, you would be much better off than taking ACV

    • After a member recommended it, I have used it (2 Tbs. diluted in two ounces of lemon juice and water daily) and felt great shortly thereafter also, though the intensity seemed to wane after a few days.  I hope someone will conduct a double blind test to "prove" it's advantages.  It has many other uses beyond detoxification.
